Beauty for Ashes
This painting is illustrating a person releasing pain and sorrow (the blue water drops on the left hand side of the painting) and receiving beauty and joy in its place (the flowers on the right). Is represents a promise from the Father found in Isaiah 63 for the people of God whose hearts belong to the King of Heaven. Some of God’s children have been sold a lie, believing if Jesus is in their life they won’t experience any more disappointment, sorrow or pain, when in fact, we are promised hard times and suffering. The greatest hope of the gospel is the promise that even in our darkest hour, amidst betrayal, the grief of loss, confusion or complete brokenness, we are never alone. We have a God who experiences all of the pain that exists in humanity. He knows and has given us His own Spirit to be in us and equip us with all we need to be more than conquerors. This painting is an invitation to release our sorrow and receive His strength and courage. What a promise! What a gift!
